What Can I Offer to You Lord my God?

I am blessed this year to be able to join in the ALNP Makati Household this year. The Household program is a 3-week opportunity of serving each other (sisters in this case) by living in one house with series of talks on deepening of faith, how to be a Christian woman, and practical things such as Make-Up Session and Financial Stewardship.

This is my second time already joining the program. Though I felt hesitant at the beginning, I can still recall the time I was asked if I would like to join again for the Household. At that time, I felt light and at peace in saying the words, ‘Yes!’. It’s just funny that after saying it, I immediately asked my Action Group Leader- sis Anna. Where will I get the payment for this?

Soon then, after two days came my move-in at the house. Sister Belle teased me while going to the house and even when we were at dinner, why I am silent. Hahaha she already knew that I am contemplating if I already did the right decision. Sure that is what I am thinking at that moment.

After dinner, my prayer partner and group mate (the same sister I have my first household before) -Apple Rances saw me fixing my bed (actually just laying it!). She offered to help me.

Just then right in front of my eyes, I got a clean and fixed bed just like what you see in hotels. At that instant, I felt touched by the Lord through that gesture. I felt loved! I knew at that instant, my reason why I was called to the Household again.

‘It is to be a visible gift of love of God to my sisters’

After that small but touching gesture, this question came to my mind:

What can I offer to You Lord my God?

For all the goodness You have shown to me (Psalm 116)

I then looked for opportunities of how I can repay not only to sister Apple and to the sisters in the household- Sherill Borbajo, Loribelle Zamora, Johzee Barleta, Nicole Ledesma, Kristine Kaye Calimag, Rebbie Cunada and Jinky Jimenez but to Lord God Himself for allowing me to love Him through loving them. All the memory of my first experience in the Household before flashed back, and I also want to pass this love I got then to them. May it be in helping them in cleaning the house, cooking sumptuous food, doing the dishes, and or simply spending time with them talking about their work, plans, love life and most especially on days where we felt the Lord touched our hearts!

Last night, sis Apple shared me this song and reminded me of how the Lord first blessed me last year with my promotion at work. The video below was shared to us by Fr. Marty Macasaet on a talk at our community. It is about not on thinking what small you have, but on offering all you only have and surrendering it all up to Him!

So take my five loaves and two fishes

Do with it as you will

I surrender

Take my fears and my inhibitions

All my burdens, my ambitions

You can use it all

I hope it’s not too small

trust in you

trust in you

So take my five loaves and two fishes

Do with it as you will

I surrender

Take my fears and my inhibitions

All my burdens, my ambitions

You can use it all

No gift is too small

I humbly pray Lord for You to bless ‘all my small offerings, every light Yes’ to You! Hope you surrender them also to Him. How about you?
